Philosophy
I have always based my riding and training on my love of horses, and it is this love of horses that drew me to dressage.  This
is something that I have not lost sight of over the years.  Sadly I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly side of horse
training, and I have made it my goal to ensure that any horse under my supervision is treated in a kind manner that he can
understand!

My training reflects this very strongly, and I make sure that horses in training with me, and my students share a mutual
understanding, respect, and trust with each other.  Without those elements I do not feel that dressage can truly exist!

For what the horse does under compulsion... is done without understanding: just as there would be no beauty if one should
whip and spur a dancer!

These words were spoken by the great Xenophon, the forefather of all
dressage, over two thousand years ago, and his words ring true to this
day, and it is teachings such as these that I wish to further, and pass on!

As a trainer I hold the true Classical principles in the highest regard, and
do not simply throw around the word as the popular catch phrase that it
has become today.

I also bring along a vast understanding of the equine physique and psyche,
as the anatomical aspect of our work with horses is forgotten about all too
often.

I incorporate this into my training because a lack of knowledge in this area
is why so many horses end up with soundness problems.  I also love
knowing how the movements in dressage make our horses stronger, and
more beautiful!
